Ford, C. Browning. The Reid Ross Varsity Basketball Team is experi- encing a first this year. Ross has been a contender for the division title all season. The Cougars began the season with a fine showing in the Holiday Christmas tournament at E. E. Smith. Coaches Underwood and Woullard are lucky in the fact that they can go to their bench with confidence. The Cougars offer an inside threat with McCants and Wright and an outside threat with Chance, McKinnon, Packer, and Sales. The loss of Mr. Hustle , Eric Dawson in the Seventy First game hurt the Cougars, but our young men bounced back to prove our depth and determina- tion to become a basketball power. Daw ' Sports 123

CROSS COUNTRY TEAM Ihe iy7() Held Ross Cross-Country Team finisheci with a 4 and 4 mark. Tht ' team was led Ijy Captain John Trogdon and Co-captain Benard Guillard. These two individuals carried the hulk of the weight throughout the season. John Trogdon was honored as 1st All-Conference runner, while Benard Guillard was honored as 2nd All- Conference runner. John also liroke the 2 year old course record with a time of 16:53, bettering the old mark hy Ifi seconds. The entire squad next yeiu looks promising.
