Many of our governmental problems were solved in the visual-aid room. At least these seniors think so. Amicably, 'these lively juniors discuss current issues in the light of AMERICAN HISTORY. That's Sister Mary Vera moderating the discussion panel. WORLD HISTORY is no drudgery. Mr. Robert's trip to the library with his sophomores was to acquaint them with the giant-size atlas. Not to be outdone by their elders, these seventh graders tackle the history of their home state by way of projects. Mr. Raitano is greatly pleased with their efforts. Sister Walter Marie's just a quickie keeps her sophomore GEOMETRY class on their toes. They work like busy beavers. Eventually, Joe Mc- Klernurry succeeded in getting other mem- bers of the BIOLOGY class interested in the new batch of gup- pies. Mr. Henry's eighth grade science class are aspiring to reach the status of Sister Margaret Ruth's sen- ior high PHYSICS class. Keep plugging, eighth graders, you will get there. These senior students in Sister Mary Erna's BOOKKEEPING class can brief anyone on assets and liabilities, as you can well see. If this is LIBRARY GUIDANCE, Sister Mary Josepha has taken time out to instruct the eighth graders on the use of the card catalogue file. Under Sister Mary Erna's persevering patience, TYPING is a highly valued course. There's not a vacant seat in the house. Should you be looking for the right answer in RELIGION, call on any of these hands in Mrs. Hackman's eighth grade class. - y i The witches' scene in MACBETH comes to life for an appreciative group of seniors in Sister Karen Patrice's ENGLISH class. As you can see, there are talented students at Reicher. Thorton Wilder's THE BRIDGE OF SAN LUIS REY is the lively discussion going on in this junior English class. Sister Mary Josita takes great pleasure in the views expressed by these students. If you have ever been in Father Leddy's LATIN II course, you're familiar with Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres . . For a translation, call on any of these sophomore students. Escribarnos en espanol. directs Sister Maria. These junior students not only think in Spanish, read in Spanish, but they also write in Spanish. HOME MAKING The knit-one, purl-two technique is a challenge for these fresh- man girls. After a time, Sister Casimir Ioseph's patience scored a win . . . the girls learned to knit. Part of ART II training concerns figure-drawing. Sister Mary Iosita calls to the attention of her young artists the basic elements for acquiring good proportion. And the young model is very cooperative. Taking time out for a look at what others are doing, these ART I students display a lot of talent in their varied color and design projects. These young cowboys are having their difficulties. Looks as though that funny looking creature missed his line in the song Trail to Mexico. La Cucharachan and other like folk songs are much more fascinating when dramatized, as these eighth grade girls do agree. LISIC Through dramatization, eighth graders learn to appreciate folk songs from the Southwest. No, that gun isn't loaded! Pop-visits are made to Our Divine Lord in the school chapel and many receive Holy Communion during the Masses offered on special oc- casions in the gym. HOT LLINC Being at the tail-end of the chow line doesn't seem to disturb these young fellows . . . as long as they get something to eat. Behind the chow line scene, ever on the job, are these wonderful managers who make up the cafeteria crew. They have many mouths to feed. i Trays are well stocked with good nourishing food by the time these young men reach the end of the sewing counter . . . how the young Iadies get to the table first, is their deep dark secret. v 5 ' . 1 S 5 lg , sax : '25 1 wwf- xxx' 15 PHYSICAL FITNESS PRCC?-RAM At Reicher Catholic High School, the physical fitness program helps to keep young minds active. The coordination of body muscles and mental faculties are acquired in various ways . . . playing SPEEDBALL, a type of indoor foot- ball which originated in Englandg performing CALlSTHENICSCbodily exercisesj or learning the art of shooting with a bow and arrow. Mrs. Mills knows how to keep the girls physically fit. f Mrs. Langlotz receiving tuition and Sister Walter Marie making out tardy slips or absentee excuses makes for a very busy pre-school activity period . . . and it is not uncommon to see a long line at the drinking fountain between periods, especially among the seventh graders. CAS LIALS Captured in a familiar role . . . Father Leonard Leddy in his junior homeroom before or after school W X As a rule the students move from class to class in single file and to the right . perhaps Mr. Henry can be blamed for this jam session. In a freshman homeroom a written notice on the board Locker inspection tomorrow results in a general clean-up campaign. These senior Christmas Belles succeeded in having their picture taken with Sister Mary Vera. Congratulations, boys! ORGANIZATIONS JUNIOR CLASS OFFlCERSg Dennis Carrigan, Michael Kelley, Dale Smith, and Karen Pardo working out preliminary plans for this year's Junior-Senior Prom. SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERSg Mary Lynne Easter, Terry Moncus, Pat Richey, Barbara Thompson, PatsyfDulak Chesney Jarvis, Frank Laird, and Jay Molloy, pause for a look into the mechanics of the new Driver's Ed. train- ing car. Eighth grade officers examining the new science table on wheels and other science equipment recently purchased. Donna Langlotz Patricia Tierney Linda Hanson Mike Smajstrla Garry Mauro Stephen Prados Andy Restivo John Tusa SEVE TH GR DE OFFICERS Mary Boger, Francine Todar, Peggy Kaluzza, and David Graves hope to serve their class well in all they are called upon to do. Kay Callaway, Patty May, Rodney Eichler, and Kathy Zalman are happy to represent their homeroom for the first time. These Student Council officers and representatives, under the direction of Mr. Henry, handle many activities for their classmates. Many hands make light work. This is quite true of Sister Mary Iosepha's Library Club. Each member spends many hours in the library to keep books in circulation. GZQJVL 'ii!i.S.lEt!.S.!:5 -1-235141-1--C VCL. O special interest were two beautifu books which Calleros had helped writ and put together. One of the book had Spanish leather for the cover inlai with 13 carat German gold in an intrl cate design. Each page was of Frenc silk, and each had a distinctly diffel ent border, handpainted in red ink. Tll illustrations in this book were don in black ink on a white backgrouni The printing was all done by hand, an the printing on the cha-pter pages, UI like the black lettering of the othf pages, was done in several colors. Tl other book lacked the silk pages, t' colored border around each page, a the colored ink on the chapter pagl Both of these valuable books were e tirely handmade and written in Spani about the early Spanish history. Ser Calleros also collaborated with thl other men in putting together a bc for the Pope.
