In the tourney sponsored by China Springs, a consolation trophy was taken by defeating the host team. Later in the season, a second-place trophy was won when the Cougars were edged out in the finals of a sixteen-team tournament played at the Waco Boys' Club. A 13-10 won-loss record was established for the season and a reputation for hard, clean ball was made. With two starting lettermen returning, the C.H.S.
