Andy McEvoy also won a major part in The Mikado , by his singing and acting. . . One of our num- ber, George Blom, was Vice President of Sophomore Debate, and was a valued member of the Track Team . . . What would the Jay Vee Basketball squad have done without the services of Eddie Skiko? . . . Both Dick Doyle and Tony Coyne represented us on the Regis publications, the Quarterly, Owl, and Regian . . . Gerhart Karg's violin was indispensable to the string section of the Orchestra . , . We will long remember the able magic Tony Coyne displayed on Class Nights, with the aid of George Blom . . . Nor will we forget, We'll see you this afternoon, Son , against which no magic prevailed. 24

THIS IS 3-Cl Like Notre Dame. we had an oft-year in toot- ballg but our basketball team freed us of the name Winless Wonders when it stunned everyone by copping a game . . . We're represented on the Basketball Varsity by Jim Murtaugh and Bruce Bradford, and on the Jay Vee by Bill Dougherty . . . We're also a musical bunch, known as the Barefoot Pennsyl- vanians , with Bill Lundy, Joe Nicolosi, Hermie Melendez, George Restrepo, and Gene Bindler singing in the Glee Club, and John Magan and Al Kenneke playing in the Orchestra . . . A last-minute rally placed us well among the leaders in the Thanksgiving Drive. . . Math puzzled us a bitg but the biggest mystery of the year was, Who took the chairs out of the Chem Lab? SPOTLIGHT ON 2-A: We began the daily exodus to The Place early in the year . . . Our intra-mural teams proved them- selves formidable warriors, and won the respect of all their opponents . . . Distinction goes to Gerry Ettlinger, who is on the Jay-Vee roster . . . Don Grady, Bob Mirabile, and Joe Murphy ably represent us on the staff of the Owl . . . Charlie McGroddy and Jack Kelly are on the swimming team . . , Ray Adams won the gold medal for his performance in Julius Caesar , Dick Coleman, Don Grady, Bennett McKinnon, Pete Matthews, Jack Fagan, also gave distinguished performances for the Fall Play , . .
