The 1972 Regis Ramblers Football season was a good one for fans and players alike - playing most of the season in the tough CWCC conference without early season start- ers john Fisher and jack McDonald. The Ramblers did a fine job of coming together as a unit and playing serious football. We posted decisive victories over Aquinas, Campion, and Columbus, leading by two or more touchdowns. Our only major defeats were at the hands of Pacelli and Assumption Overall, the season would have to be labelled as success- ful, based on the fact that many underclassmen filled key positions. The season was highlighted by some outstanding perform- ances by many different players. Dave Duren, perhaps the steadiest performer, was chosen as All Northwest, as well as All City and All Conference End. Dan Kurtz and John Ciammona both made All Conference and All City titles. Paul Roesssler, Mark Prissel, and Ted Welke also made the All City team. Other senior players who did fine jobs include Randy Zurbuchen, Ed Pieterick, jim johnson, and Paul Ausman. Other outstanding underclassmen were Ed Watkins, Mike Sullivan, Bill Barrett, Brian Theiss, Greg Rudd, Mike Zais, Mark Boyle, jerry Fisher, Paul Newton, Mike Dev- ney, and Roger Ausman. This group of guys was also aided by many fine candidates of all three classes. We look forward to the 1973 season with a hope for im- provement and excitement. Many thanks also go out to the fine Regis supporters - as stalwart as the tradition of fine football at Regis High School.
