Students and faculty aid in this orientation to bring aware- ness to the parents and students of this new atmosphere. The programs consist of a weekend in the mountains, academic testing, faculty, parent- student dinners and celebrating Mass with the new and the old. Student Senate members, assisted by facilitators, work throughout the summer planning this important week. The Office of Student Life and faculty members also volunteer their time so that the incoming students feel at ease and get off to a great start at the Ranch. 16 17 18 I. I searched and searched and searched, and searched And searched and searched, and then — There it was, deep in the grass, Under the old and twisty bough. It ' s mine, it ' s mine at last . . . Let them look at the beauty of the waters and the trees and the flowers on earth. They will then begin to think, and to think is the beginning of a real education. For power and wealth men stretch the day from dawn till dusk. But quietly I go my way. For glitter, show, to taunt the crowd, Desire — tossed in wild dismay, Men sell their souls, but quietly I go my way. The green of all the fields is mine, The stars, the night, the wind at play, A peaceful heart, while quietly I go my way. Max Ehrman In memory of Teresa Krause born: 10-13-54 died: 12-17-79 263 Readers, Well, the ' 79- ' 80 Ranger Yearbook is finally finished, printed, and in your hands. We must admit, we had our doubts, but it only goes to prove that nothing is impossible, (only improbable) Giving credit where credit is due, we would like to thank Marthe (I ' m on Yearbook) Carrick, Chris (I ' ve got more gossip) Bello, and Lori (You ' re nuts to be editor) Finney. Thanks to John Kelly for fetishes and fantasies, Sue Bolton, Pat Pitz and Dave Orwick for the use of some of their photographs. Please remember that captions and pictures were used in fun, and do not take any- thing personally. A Yearbook is not a book of memories, you cannot capture memories in print. However, if the book managed to remind you of a special person, place or time which is special to no one but you, then the book has been worth the time and effort. We will leave you with one final thought. Does anyone ever appreciate life while the ' re living it? Ciao, Peggi Steinhauer Kate Foster 264 mm .
