Lest we should go astray. And now as spring descends anew, And seniors turn to bid adieu, We offer up this book to thee — A token to thy memory. The Editors. Two John J. Flanagan, S. J. President, Regis College, 1941-1947 Three p. roioaue The appearance of the 1948 RANGER marks the end of another scholastic year. It is an appropriate time for reflection on the part of those who are graduating and of the larger number of students whose academic careers are not yet finished. If we are to be rescued from the ills that oppress us, and protected against their recurrence, it must be through clear thinking, and that is legitimately to be expected from those who have profited by a liberal education. That training should liberate the mind from ignorance and prejudice. It should sharpen the ability to judge independently, to disentangle the truth from a mass of error. We hope that the sons of Regis, as a result of their years here, will take their place among those who think clearly. We expect that they will always keep themselves emancipated from the tyranny of the crowd; that they will never be among those who are afraid of that which is high. As we wish our Graduates godspeed and God ' s blessings, we do so with the confident trust that they will aid their fellow men by their straight, clear thinking, and thus bring honor to their college as they achieve success for themselves. nr •fi!
