Student Council The 1970-71 Student Council tried to fulfill its function within Regina and without. One of its aims was to increase Reginafs social involvement through projects such as the Free Clinic art show and concert, the Appalachian Christmas wreath sale, and partici- pation in the Knights of Columbus track meet. A Student Council workshop also was held. Apathy, student representation, and constitution revision were topics of discussion. As a result of these meet- ings, a new election procedure was instigated primar- ily to improve the efficiency of council by decreasing its size. It is hoped that this reduction will compel more student involvement. A major issue of the work- shop was black representation. A decision was reached which insures the expression of black views on council. The workshop also revamped Student Council elections. The candidates are now elected by the entire student body and will run for specific offices.
