In this your glorious Marian Year we turn to you thegz'na Coelihh and hopefully recall our motto h'Filia Mariae Non Peribit? Through all our years, until eternity shall unveil to us your heavenly grace and beauty, you shall be our cherished ideal. A Reginian, characteristic of the name she bears, lives her life under the protection of Our Ladyk Mantle, acting in accordance with the laws of Christian morality, and inspired by the promise that a Child of 3 Mary shall not perish. With these ideals: A Reginian is an example of genuine Christian womanliness. A Regim'an is Marylike in her thoughts, words and actions. 7 A Reginian is obedient. A Reginicm is courteous and considerate at all times. : A Reginian displays true sportsmanship in all activities. A Reginian 2's cooperative, trustworthy and sincere. Every minute of Ginny's days was full of interest, not in consideration of herself, but in what way she could be a joy and a help to those around her. Nature found her an ardent student, and the years spent in Texas -years in which she enjoyed the outdoorsuwon for her the name Tex. Her last years spent in Ohio, and especially her Sopho- more year at Regina, endeared her to a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Even on the last day of her life, Sep- tember 8, 1953 - the eve of her sixteenth birthday-Ginny spread her cheer and good wishes among her teachers and classmates when she registered for her Junior year at Regina. But the evening of life had dawned and Ginny was called tthome. Her tragic death came as a great shock and its reality struck most forcefully to all who had had the good fortune to be associated with her. Requiescat in Pace! T0 Ginny Why did God take our Ginny? He probably felt, that hew' being here, Why did He call her so soon? With her warm and friendly xmile, Why didntt He wait, until the bud Would enrich the lives of those she loved, Was a beautiful flower in bloom? Though she stayed such a little while. Why did He make her heart so pure, And we feel sure that Ginny, Her laughter 50 light and gay? So young and full of fun Why did He have us know her, And yet so deeply religious, Then suddenly take her away? Her place in heaven has man. So God in His love, touched her shoulder, Ami beckoned her home, to be A flower to bloom in heaven, Through all eternity. . . . by Mrs. Frank Telgkamp 44 SOPHOMORES Dolores Bostic - Vice-President Carolyn Brown - Secretary Louise Brinker H President Connie Hugenberg - Treasurer Front Row: Carol Kiehfuss, Cecilia Rolfes, joann Thalheimer, Hanna Radlcr, Joan Evans, Dolores Liller, Nancy Jo Ritchie, Alice Somerville, Barbara Hu- genberg, Leanne Lelbreich, Carol Roetting. Because of ill health, Anna Mae was obliged to dis- continue her studies early in October, 1953. Decline came gradually, until, following an operation in March, death relieved her. Anna Mae Devoto was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 4, 1935. She attended St Francis de Sales Grade School and entered Regina as a freshman in September, 1950. She would have been a member of the 1954 gradu- ating class. She loved sports, especially swimming, and won her Life Saving award. Ball games were also favorite pastimes. At Regina, Anna Mac was a member of the Glee Club for two years and also she was a member of the Service, Club. She enjoyed associations with her classmates and a large group of friends. As a devout Child of Mary she dearly loved her rosary, her daily visit to the Blessed Sac- rament, and, until her last illness, she was most faithful to the First Friday Communion in honor of the Sacred Heart. SL Joseph, 1:00, had a prominent place among her devotions. It was on March 18, 1954, the eve of his feast, that Anna Mae passed to her eternal reward. Requiescat in Face! Anna. In this Marian Year the Queenhs Teens at Regina tried to outdo each other in honoring our heavenly Mother. First, the freshmen presented a program on various apparitions, among them that of Our Lady of Knock in Ireland. Then came the beautiful procession and crowning 0f the May Queen by Joan Schimian, senior class president, assisted by Sue Hogan and Louise Brinker, junior and sophomore presidents. Later in the month the seniors gave a program featuring various devotions to Mary. This was directed by Father Theodore. In addition to these demonstrations, the students gath- ered in large numbers at the grotto each morning at 8:30 for the Marian Year daily rosary. May altars erected in their homerooms by the girls were evidence of their con- fidence in Regina's motto Filia Mariae non peribit.
