They have led us along the path of Christian learning, and now, as we step through the Gateway to Our Lives, let us thank them, not only in Words, but in the realization that we shall persevere in the Christian living for which they have prepared us. Miss Mary Dolores Baumeister Miss Mary Agnes Stagge In mpmuriam We have loved lyer during life; let us not abandon her, until we have conducted her by our prayers into the house 0f the Lord. The hearts of many Reginians were heavy when they received the news of the death of Sister Mary Maxilinda. Having been at Regina for twenty-one years, she had many friends. It was also through her never-ending efforts that the business department was started and built up, until now it is the best training grounds for the finest secretaries, stenographets and typists. She is remembered not only by the present Reginians, but also by some of our mothers who were fortunate enough to have had her teach them when they attended Regina. We are sure Our Lord and His Blessed Mother have woven for her a crown of unending happiness. Requiescat in pace. HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF NINETEEN-FIFTY-ONE FRESHMAN YEAR It was with fear and awe that we entered the great halls of Regina for the first time as stue dents. It wasnlt easy for us, the former queens of grade school to adjust to the position of lowly subjects. But soon we began to enjoy the feeling of being one of the Freshman Class. We were truly starting through that Gateway to the Future. Our first days were filled with exciting events w the day our names were drawn by our big sisters, who helped us through our shyness and made us feel we really belonged. At last we settled down to study under the guiding hand and watchful eye of Sister Teresa. Our first reports were an event - and so was the burst of studying that followed it! Life at Regina seemed to be one long awaited happening after another! First, Christmas, and then our first taste of high school exams. We found that taste was slightly bitter, and new resolu- tions about study habits were made. Then we devoutly entered into the retreat given by Father Lekan of Purcell. Nor will we forget the inspiring talk by john Haffert on Fatima. In the pages of our freshman memory book, many things are outstanding. Those first Regina dances, for instance, and the only game of that volleyball season we won. The months went by like lightning, and we had to bid a tearful farewell to out big sisters . June was there before we knew it and, out green year over, we looked forward to the second milestone on out way. SOPHOMORE YEAR This September we entered Regina feeling certain of our places. We found that this year our privileges wete greater, but with that came the inevitable increase of responsibilities. We won out first Intramural Volleyball Championship. But not only in sports did we shine! It was from out tanks that the winner of the Regina Eliminations 0f the CSMC Oratorical Contest came. Christmas came again, and the art class prepared a wonderful surprise for all Reginians w a stained-glass window, depicting the Nativity As the holiday season passed, we went on to even greater thrills of planning for the Sophomore Date Dance. In May, the work and plans paid big dividends in the fun we had at out nSpring Switlll. Again the schooldays ended for us - those nine months had swept by so fast. JUNIOR YEAR Now we strode the familiar balls with a new confidence. Everything seemed part of the enchantment of being a Junior. Many were the memories we added which we will always cherish w the class rings, which were at last out very own; the trials and tribulations of putting out a new bigger and better Beacon; the honor of helping just a. little with the publishing of the AncilelC That Christmas it was out class that made sure Santa came down Regina's chimney. The CSMC Oratorical Contest again brought fame to us, for this year a Junior went to Dayton with her speech. The magic-of the year was greatest as the Prom drew nigh. May fifth - a night when even the stars shone brightetu-was the date of out Juniot-Senior Prom. Following that cherished event, the days flew, and, surprisingly enough We found ourselves one step closer to out goalwgraduation. SENIOR YEAR It is that one step u our Senior Year - that, in the following pages, we shall unfold to you. ?Subum mmmwumBBm ?Swuumm .mmth. .332 mo EMEx uBESuv HEEHE Zmummm EuuccU x03 2 Emmi BEE?
