PRHNCHPAL QMS Vision is a powerful force for good-a vitally needed human power. Vision is an essential ingredient for successful leadership. lt plays a maior role in every phase of useful human endeavor-from the harmonious functioning of a home to the successful operation of a business enterprise and on to the skillful manage- of l if tgrzjyment of government and all its many facets. The Bible, emphasizing the importance itil of vision, forcefully says, Without vision the people perish. The gift of vision is a most important asset and when you add the courage to act, you have a winning combination Few accomplishments remain impossible to an inspired leeder who has vision and the courage to act. N l-'Jr lf you, as high school students today and leaders of our country tomorrow .lf l ,xl wish to succeed as leaders, you should strive to get this great asset. You should ,feel it, be led by it, lead with it-that is the all-important thing. And put on the strong armor of courage as you fight to reach your worthy goals. SUPERTNTENDENT To The Students of Refugio High School: The pages of a high school annual tell the story of a single year in your lives, but, more than that, they tell us something of what you are and what you will be- come. Those of you who have had the responsibility of editing and publishing the Bobcat Chant will long since have learned that your assignment is a serious and challenging one. Therefore, in accepting this additional responsibility, you have achieved a success which might have discouraged people of much greater ex- perience. This book, then, while it is published for the entire student body, is in my opinion a tribute to the members of the staff, to those who are willing to do more than lust enough. When in future years you glance through this book I hope you will remember the difficulties you overcame to make possible its publication. The 1957 Bobcat Chant will then serve as an inspiration in your efforts to overcome the problems and difficulties confronting you through the years. lf you face each new problem with the determination and spirit you have shown this year, with a willingness to do more than lust enough, you need have no fears for your eventual success.
