DEDICATION We the members of the 1953 Bobcat Chant Staff lovingly dedicate this edition of the annual to Miss Lulu N. Rice, without whose unceasing efforts, wisdom, and understanding, this book could never have been published. Miss Rice is known to all the students of Refugio High School as someone who is sympathetic and understanding. She is willing at all times to help students in any way possible. As senior class sponsor, Miss Rice has worked with five editions of the annual. To you, Miss Rice, we say thank you sincerely for all you have done. We, the annual staff, hope you will accept this edition of the Bobc at Chan f as a small token of our appreciation. Through the years we shall remember him as the Dramatics Coach, School Musician, and in general a good sport. We appreciate the splendid work of the Annual Staff and Sponsor this year in completing another fine annual. This project is typical of the many activities that Refugio High School will long be remembered for. May this work bring you and the students of Refugio School pleasure now and in the years to come. You have had a great part in developing the spirit and loyalty of our school. Ideals are like stars. You will not succeed in touching them with your handsg but, like the seafaring man, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you will reach your destiny. JUNIOR HIGH PRINCIPAL The person who finds an object worthy of his loyalty is fortunate indeed. The youth of America, in many instances, seems to be squandering the great strength and inspiration of its loyalty on tawdry and often degrading causes. The young people of this community have generously bestowed their loyalty on their school ana' on their fellow citizens. The reward for this is reflected in the strength and wbolesomeness of their character, and in the warm pride the en- tire community feels for them. Zena we xt QA X ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL I Associate yourself with people of bigb ideals and strong character. bg If , ffl X55 WV 7a Wiemafaiam 1 3 Q3 esnux Af LV'-Trkl Mary L. McMichael, B. A.g M.
