Operatirws Department X K Call Sig:n..... Alfa Zulu Ops Boss LCDR R. M. Nazak, USN The Operations Department aboard the REEVES is a team of Highly trained specialists. The radarmen, Ol division., operate the ship's vast array of radars and associated electronic equipment. Working in CIC, they play a vital role in the ship's navigation and combat effective- ness. OC division, made up of radiomen, signalmen and the postal clerk, is responsible for all forms of communications coming to and originating in REEVES. No matter what type of com- munication is necessary, from ultra-fast radioteletype to U.S. Mail or hand-held semaphore, OC division is on the job. And to maintain the highly sophisticated equipment used by Ol and OC divisions, there are the expert electronics technicians of OE division. On call day or night to render fast, dependable first aid to electronics equipment, the ET gang is a professional can do roup. ibperations Department has a hand in everything, from executing a Search and Rescue operations to fixing the Crew's T.V. or sending a friendly Hello to a passing ship. The men of Ops must be well-trained, alert and vitally interested, otherwise, the ship just wouldn't be here.
