The student body picked the top five girls: Emily Cooper, Tina McGill, Brenda Mur- phy, Jody Solgat, and Sandy Westoby. On Friday night one of those girls would be crowned queen. Homecoming night finally arrived as things got started with the annual parade through town and back to the football field. The stands were packed as the floats worked their way past the crowd. The suspension was finally broken as Miss McLellan announced the Freshmen as winners for their float, the Sophomores as winners for individual spirit, and the Freshmen taking overall honors. Finally the girls walked onto the field and Emily Cooper was crowned the 1985 Homecoming queen by last year's queen Kris Bailey. The night ended with the traditional dance in the school cafe- teria. The winning float, Knock 'em for a loop!, was entered by the Freshmen. The Rocket defense dominated the Owls.
