Dr. Bruce Dunn welcomes Rev. Fischer of Trinity Lutheran Church, Graduation ARAN И Many attended Graduation June 4, 1968 Salutatorian Bob Valedictorian Jeanie John Р. Francis Award This award has been inaugurated in his memory by his class- mates of the 1965 graduating year, the athletes he played with, and the coaches he played under. John Francis was the first Reese High School graduate to sacrifice his life for our country in the current Vietnam conflict, Ronald Barcalow, a 1966 graduate of Reese, also paid the supreme sacrifice for his country. This award is to be an annual presentation to the outstanding athlete of the graduating class who most nearly embodies those attributes which John Francis held so dear both on the athletic field and on the field of war. Those attributes of determination and desire, sportsmanship and friendliness, as all his friends will attest to, were not strangers to John Р, Francis. In high school athletics John won numerous awards for his out- standing participation in track, football, and basketball. In the latter two he was instrumental in helping his team win con- ference championships. In war also John contributed more than his share, He was given medals by both the South Vietnamese and the United States Governments, John P. Francis John's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Francis, presented the first annual John P, Francis Award to Bob Auernhammer.
