The Reese High Rockets started the season out right in Akron's new gym with a victory. We did fairly well winning all but four games. The Rocket starters averaged better than six foot until All-Area Center Dale Karp was dropped from the team. But later we had more hope when six foot-three center Don Trombley came to help us out. We ended up only second to Kingston with a tie with Peck. We did better than expected in Tournament play. We started with the districts in Arthur Hill Gym where we were rated last in Class C. We pulled two upsets against Saginaw St. Mary 's and two nights later we beat Sts. Peter and Paul. We then went on to the regionals Bay City Junior College where we managed to win one game against Deckerville and a few nights later were defeated by powerful St. Stanislaus. 30 .
