Class l-llstory Our flrst appearance ln hlgh school w as wlth xery uncertaln actlons We dldn t know exactly what was expected of us and wxll admlt we dldn t know the ropes It dldnt take us long to flnd the well worn strands When we entered hugh school 1n 1946 It was qulte dxfferent from the grade school One of the flrst thmgs we d1d was to elect class offlcers class motto and the class flower Mr Crow supervlsed our class to Gettsburg after Wh1Ch he xery kmdly gaxe us a test Pres1dent Plchard Dean VICE Presxdent Harold Pennypacker Secretary Margaret McN1tt Treasurer Robert Kllne Class Flower Yellow Rose Class Color Green and Gold Class Motto Easy salllng makes poor saxlors Easy work makes poor students Entermg school 1n the fall we found that we had only three requlred subjects to take although nearly every one d9Clded to take some electlv es Thls year many of the boys IH our class took part 1n the soccer and basket ball games We were glad that half our hlgh school days were over We ordered our class rmgs ln the latter part of October and recen ed them before Chrlstmas Presldent Harold Pennypacker Vxce President Leon Houser Secretary Carrle Peachey Class Flower Yellow Rose Class Colors Green and Whlte Class Motto Easy salllng makes poor sallors Easy work makes poor students Entering our Jumor year we found we had a rather small class There were four boys and one glrl who dld not return to school We held our flrst meetmg on September 19 to elect new class officers President Leon Houser Vlce Pres1dent Charles Kauffman Secretary Hazel Nale Treasurer Theodore Klng xvlth graduatlon and our class trlp on our mlnds we began our semor year Durmg the summer months we sponsored the annual festxval on June 10 and 11 but due to the bad weather we declded to have another festlval whlch was a success We also sold pop and other confectlons at tht baseball games We sold candy throughout the year We held one bake sale on January 21 WhlCh was a success We ordered our lnvxtatlons and were measured Somethmg new was added thls year The school board sald we could have a speaker for commencement exerclses along Wlth three speeches from members of the class There was a change m class oft1cers They are as follows Pres1dent Charles Kauffman Vlce Pres1dent Wanda Harmon Secretary Arla Walter Treasurer Hazel Nale On May 26 as we sald thank you for our dlplomas we thought of our dear old school days we were leawxng behlnd We are now gomg out to flnd our place 1n the big wlde wonderful world O 1 , ' Y. u as s ,- u A - 1 ' - . . . 1 .
