The 1979 Girls' volleyball team compiled a successful 8-6 record on their way to a third place conference finish. The seasons' highlight was one game victory over Portage at regionals. The team was lead by co-captains Kay Klitzke and Connie Oetzman. Denise Baumgarten received all-confer- ence honors and Sharon Mundth and Connie Oetzman re- ceived honorable mention status. Team award winners in- cluded Kay Klitzke, most-improved player; Sharon Mundth, mvp; and Best team player, Connie Oetzman. The jayvee squad coached by Michelle Boyle compiled a 5-9 record. The 1979 Boys' volleyball team closed their season with a sub-regional loss to the conference champion Sparta Spar- tans, Reedsburg finished their season with a 1-9 record win- ning against Wisconsin Dells. The team was lead by seniors Chuck Brown, Dan Storhoff, Calvin Steinweg and Gary Ham- burg. Calvin Steinweg was named captain.
