Girls' Gymnastics Squad Competes For 2nd Year The Webb High Girls gymnastic team organized this year under the direction of Miss Welles, new Reedsburg teacher, and Dr. Bartol, an area resident. They found themselves much improved from last year and lost to Baraboo by only 6 points compared to a sound defeat last year. The 1979 Girls' volleyball team compiled a successful 8-6 record on their way to a third place conference finish. The seasons' highlight was one game victory over Portage at regionals. The team was lead by co-captains Kay Klitzke and Connie Oetzman. Denise Baumgarten received all-confer- ence honors and Sharon Mundth and Connie Oetzman re- ceived honorable mention status. Team award winners in- cluded Kay Klitzke, most-improved player; Sharon Mundth, mvp; and Best team player, Connie Oetzman. The jayvee squad coached by Michelle Boyle compiled a 5-9 record. The 1979 Boys' volleyball team closed their season with a sub-regional loss to the conference champion Sparta Spar- tans, Reedsburg finished their season with a 1-9 record win- ning against Wisconsin Dells. The team was lead by seniors Chuck Brown, Dan Storhoff, Calvin Steinweg and Gary Ham- burg. Calvin Steinweg was named captain.
