The junior class sponsored their annual prom We've Got Tonight in a fully decorated Webb High gymnasium, dancing to the music of the River Valley Orchestra. This year, the junior class decided not to an- nounce the results of the voting for King and Queen so that they could attract more specta- tors and couples to the prom. The idea wasn't entirely successful because word leaked out early and everyone found out that Amy Schultz and Steve Kaun would be the ones crowned at the dance. 125 Above are the 24 couples in addition to the court who participated in the grand march because they included juniors and their dates. Don't Drink The Water A party scene (right) included much of the cast of Don't Drink the Water . (Below) Leads of the play included Alan Buss, Beth Swanson, Kar- la Hammer, and Art Mathews. The 1979 Thespian Spring production was Woody Al- len's Don't Drink the Water . As a most enjoyable comedy the play was set in American Embassy some- where behind the iron curtain. Scott Bentley, student director joined Miss Davis in directing the production. Lead roles included Walter and Marion Hollander played by Alan Buss and Beth Swanson, and their daughter Susan (Karla Hammer), the bungling ambassador's son (Art Mathews), Krojack, the spy (Scott Vogel), Father Drobney (Bruce Jaech), the chef (Brian Buss), Mr. Kilroy (Dan Lee) and the sultan (Brian James). A host of other characters rounded out the cast for a very fine production. 126 The cast of Don't Drink the Water included ; Front Row: Beth Swanson, Alan Buss, Art Mathews, and Karla Hammer. When the Reedsburg Beaver base- ball team started practicing half- way through March, people were already predicting big things for them. They lived up to these pre- dictions by turning in a fine sea- son. The Beavers finished the sea- son with a fine 11-3 record and a Conference championship. It was Coach Dave Koehler's first SCC crown since 1972. The Beavers breezed through con- ference opponents losing only twice during regular season. Reedsburg then fell to Baraboo during the regional finals putting an abrupt end to their season. Though it takes team effort to win, there were a few individuals who helped a lot. The hitting of seniors Matt Meister, Hary Hayes, and Gerry Whitty contributed to the teams' success along with the pitching of Sophomore pheno- menon! Russ Reimer. Co-captains on this years team were Brad Huber and Matt Meister. All-con- ference selections were Russ Reimer and Matt Meister at pitch- er, Gary Hayes in right field, Don Lichte at first, and Randy Holtz at center field. mmn All conference selections include above Top Row: Russ Reimer, Matt Meister, Gary Hayes.
