MATHEMATICS SCIENCE DEPARTMENTS The science department welcomed a new chemistry and physics teacher, Mr Dennis Eriksen. His physics class en- joyed a field trip to the planetarium at Madison Memorial High School. Practical chemistry and environmental science continued as favorites for fulfill- ing science requirements. General mathematics students enjoyed an assortment of experiments using six new mathematics books. Paper balances and pendulums were suspended from student desks and manipulated with paper clips. Taxes characterized consum- er math class as April 15th approached. Deb Miller. Cheryl Happle. and Maureen Miller arrange paper clips on a balance for an experiement in general mathematics. Mr. Spindler joined Webb High’s Music Department in 1972 as director of high school bands. His marching band numbered more than a hundred and showed excellent spirit at all home games. The band reorganized into concert and symphonic bands after football season and presented several concerts. At music festival at Wonewoc. the symphonic band took two firsts and the concert band took a first in sight reading. The orchestra also had a fine year in spite of the split practice ses- sions it endured, half in fourth hour and half in seventh. Choir also competed at Wonewoc and took its first. They hosted an ex- cellent exchange concert with the Richland Center choir. Madripops were again active and entertained around the community. Mr Roger Spindler Varsity Band. Symphonic Band. Pep Band.
