Board of Education Few of us realize how many hours our Board of Education spends handing deci- sions to the administration which pertain to the welfare of all students, parents, and teachers. They meet twice a month to formulate school policies, select a quali- fied staff, and plan an adequate building program for our district. Bernice Moyes Secretary 6

Superintendent of Schools Dear Seniors, Your high school years have been filled with changes that stagger the imagination ... a capsule to the moon which relayed pictures back to earth; Mariner IV, which is now on its way to Mars, will reach there after you have graduated from high school; progress in the field of medicine that gives a longer life to mankind; a standard of living beyond anything even dreamed of when you were born; jet transportation which has made it commonplace, in traveling from east to west, to keep up with time. But these changes have not eliminated the grave problems that will soon be your responsi- bilities . . . conflicts between countries and ideals, conflicts within our own govern- ment, greed and selfishness. Neither a prediction of your future nor empty words of wisdom are what I want to write. I would rather urge a rededication to the basic traditions of our heritage-- The Bill of Rights of our Constitution, good practices of citizenship, the Ten Com- mandments, and to the basic ingredients of a good life--good health, a willingness to work and to assume responsibility. This community, the Board of Education, and the faculty have worked hard to give you the tools with which to build the future. Use them to the best of your ability. My very best wishes to each member of the Class of 1965,
