Ever Mindful of Our Welfare LAWRENCE OLSON B.A., MA.; Luther College, University of Iowa Dear Seniors, On July 10, 1960, we lost a true friend in the death of Mr. Normington. As has been written and said many times, he was a man dearly loved by his family and friends, and respected and admired as an educator. On numerous occa- sions 1 have been with educators and lay people who have turned to him with full confidence for his leadership. Looking back through the Gleaners, we find that he made statements of good advice to seniors as Without educa- tion our nation would decline and the individual would fail of his destiny ; Carry on the creative thinking and coura- geous action ; You have been very fortunate to have the opportunity for education ; It is the individual that counts, and the individual is the master of his own destiny. I hope that you will want to maintain the high principles and standards of achievement in which ke believed. After your graduation I hope that you will continue to take an active interest in Webb High School and that you will come and visit us often. My sincere best wishes to each member of the class, I ROW ONE: Mrs. R. Wirth, Dr. A. C. Erickson, Bernice Moyes, Secretary. ROW TWO: Superintendent L. C. Olson, Mr. R. Holzmiller, Mr. H. Hearn, Dr. J. A. Tibbitts, Mr. J. R. Stone, Mr. I. Lassallette.
