ROY T. NORMINGTON B.Ed.. M. A. Central Wisconsin Teachers College. Columbia University Dear Seniors: With the advent of the Sputnik, we have entered into a new phase in the development of society. In this new age before us, man is no longer harnessing nature but is actually changing nature to serve his need. The period of the Industrial Revolution was primarily an adaptive age, the period ahead is truly a creative age. In Henry VI, Shakespeare points out that everyone's future is in reality an urn full of un- known treasures from which all may draw unguessed prizes. Likewise, he suggests that there will always be men and women ready to take their turn to play great parts on the stage of history. You have been very fortunate to have the opportunity for education. If you have made good use of it, you are ready to play your part in the tremendous age that lies ahead. Good luck to all of you.
