Because we hope to become the kind of citizens that Mr. Webb was and our parents are. We, the Seniors of the Class of '58 are indeed grateful for the wonderful new school which we have been privileged to attend... Without the interest and generosity of Mr. Webb, and the further interest, generosity, and cooperation of our parents, this school might never have been possible. The first section, started in October 1953 with the money donated by Herbert H. Webb, was completed in time for us to have some of our classes there when we were freshmen. Further donations by Mr. Webb, coupled with willingness on the part of our parents to assume the rest of the financial obligation, permitted construction to continue so that we will graduate from the completed high school. To show in some small way our appreciation for this new and wonderful school we, the Seniors, dedicate this, our 1958 Gleaner, to both Herbert H. Webb and our parents.
