Pat Ziech; I-oyalty Rep., Dick Jewel, Anna Haugh. and Dana Curtin. In 1051 we became the Big Wheels . and elected Marvin Alt. Pres.: Gloria l aufenberg. Sec.-Treas.; Jim Mielkie. H. S.’s 1953 football season can not really be termed a successful season, but the team was really in there pitching as bard as they could at every game and that’s what counts. During the season. R.H.S. won two games and lost six. and though this was slightly disappointing, the fellows never lost their spirit. The team was made up. for the most part, of underclassmen. 1 here were only six seniors who played constantly. There were also only four lettermen w ho started the season. The best team work of the season took place during the second half of the Sparta-Reedsburg game in which the team held the opponents to two first downs and no score, while we scored two touchdowns, and nearly made it for a third. The first T.D. of the season was made by John Bill in the Montello game. John ran for the touchdown in the first few seconds of the game right after the kick-off. The Richland Center game, which was played on October 16. was Reeds- burg s homecoming. We lost the game 16-0. The team elected Jim Varnes as captain for the season. ROW 1 • F. Brandi, A. Stanton, W.
