Juniors Receive Troclitionol Color Cone Three full years of invalnahle experience have readied the class of 1955 for the rank of upperclassnien. Beginning a new school year, they elected officers who elli- ciently directed class meetings and affairs. Along with an assembly, the juniors pre- sented a successful class play early in the spring. In May, they were host to the seniors at the long-awaited lunior-Senior Banquet. The presentation of the traditional color cane hy the seniors at the hanquet proved that this class was now fully prepared to shoulder the responsibility of up- holding the high standards and traditions of Reedley High next year. Sophomores Goin Experience The selection of reliable officers furnished the Class of ,56 a good beginning for their second year of high school. They emerged victorious from the traditional Freshman-Sophomore brawl, triumphed once more when they presented an old- fashioned inelo-drama entitled, Not Fit For Man or Beastf' in assembly. VValls fes- tooned with valentines gaily decorated with hearts, darts, and cupids provided an appropriate setting for students 'gto trip the light fantasticn to the tunes of Danga- ranls band at the sophomore dance. Throughout the year this class entered into many school affairs, including ath- letic competition, representation in the California Scholarship Federation, contribu- tion of their musical talents. and participation in social and extracurricular activities. After passing the half-Way mark, the members of this responsible and willing class are looking forward to the day when they will move into the junior class sec- tion of the auditorium and assume the status of upper classmen. 1 se, YIF- The sophomore. girls are. determined to beat the The refreshment table at the sophomore dance was rlaily decorated freshman girls in an exciting cageball game. with hearts, pretty napkins, and a beautiful layer cake. Cadets Become Leaders The fall of 1953 marked the fourth year of the California Cadet Corps on our campus. This organization has helped many young hoys along the path of leader- ship hoth in civil and military life. Led hy Major Nurmi and five capable officers, they have participated in rifle matches, drills, and range firing. For the first time in the history of the Reedley Cadet Corps, they were able to send a five man team and a ten man team to the state rifle match held at Sacramento, California. In March, the Reedley Cadets were hosts to 24 valley schools at the Cadet Corps Animal Conference of Cadet Leaders. This conference included the study of such suhjects as military discipline, leadership and the ideals and responsibilities of mili- tary leaders. l'rA'l l'.-XLION liE'l'lil:l:X'l' CEREMONY.
