He is Ser- geant Richard Abney. A Fresno native, Abney has spent most of his life in San Luis Obispo County, where he graduated from Arroyo Grande High School. He received an A.S . degree from Cuesta College in police science five years ago, and, two years later, a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fresno. Sergeant Abney was a member of the state university police before his previous job as State Center Community College District police officer at Fresno City College . Sergeant Abney cites two main obligations of his job on the RC campus. First, it is service oriented to provide police services to the academic community. This entails theft prevention and traffic regulation . Secondly, it is to help establish a more secure feeling, where students can leave their cars without fear of damage or theft. l ?. ii l 'F 3 N 4 I .3
