Anyone who submitted articles to the editor, which were valid and legitimate opinions, had their articles printed. In addition to Common Sense, the I.F.O. also sponsored speakers who came to Redwood and spoke to interested students. The President of the I.F.O. this year was Glenn Wright, the Editor of Common Sense was Lee Fishel and the advisor of the club was Mr. Purcell. Redwood's Model Airplane Club met during lunch every 2nd and 4th Friday. The club con- sisted of 13 members who spent their meetings not only building models, but also discussing engines and common materials. This year's President was Tim Tobin and the advisor was Mr. Robert Flynn. The Hiking Club has completed its second year. It was formed for those interested in hik- ing, especially as a way to keep physically fit. They started the year with elementary hikes up Mount Tamalpais to the Pan Toll Station. Further plans included places that offered the most challenge to our hikers. The club's advisor was Mr. Jerry Jones. It was he who made it possible for the members to hike all over Marin County. 79
