Mrs. Louise Velte Mr. Everett Andrew This year, three teachers were added to the English department: Mrs. Maria Van Buskirk, Mr. Russ Hill and Mr. Charles Feeney. Mrs. Van Buskirk graduated from San Francisco State College and then was an ob- server and student teacher at Redwood. Mr. Feeney graduated from Los Angeles State College, taught for two years in Southern California and then moved to Marin County. Mr. Hill has written several books in- cluding a series of books and tapes titled Spectrum which are intended to encourage students to use their senses when they write. As the LOG went to press, the English department had tentative plans to initiate an entirely elective pro- gram in English for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. This program will allow students to choose activities they most need and enjoy in English. .. ,, if -- ' ff g .Q 4477 We 3' 5 I . ,gi I 'R ffl , gf Yr l' sfittftg, me vffiiff Department Head Miss Maurine Ballard Mr. Donal Brown Mr- Stan Buchanan Mr Harry Davis I G I IS H Miss Mary Donovan Mr. Charles Feeney Miss Glenda Gentry Mr- Jack Gibson iz f Z g 5 1 rkfkffwfz f' af 'mf f, X!!
