X if is in .3 , C , , ,,fm1L WNW T r fYTIL DERS Cheering the student body on to a very successful 1962 football season were Fall yell-leaders Alan Pike, Steve White, Rick Wynne, and head yell-leader Bill Ward- well, Under the guidance of these four seniors, Redwoodites cheered their Giants on to their third Marin County Athletic League Championship. Using many catchy yells and intricate routines, they spurred the students to a typically spirited season. Working side by side with the yell-leaders, the Fall song-leaders added color to the already colorful spirit. Entertaining the student body during rallies with well- executed routines and leading the songs at all the football games were Barbie Koons and her group of: Lexie Sifford, Janet Rigsbee, Jo Jennings, Sandy Gray, Cappy CahHL and Usa French. The best example'of the kind of spirit that these two groups promoted could be seen at the Thanksgiving Day Redwood-Tamalpais game. They helped to keep and improve upon Redwood's tradition of card stunts, spirit ribbons, and the enlightening of Spirit Week. Tabulating returns, compiling percentages of class participation, and announcing the results of voting is the iob entrusted to Redwood's Election Committee. Under the watchful direction of Bev Sadler, commissioner of elections, the committee aids the student body in voicing their choice for office through a democratic procedure. Many long hours were devoted to planning the days on which elections could be held and checking off voters who cast their ballots. Another function which the election committee carries out is guarding the boxes in which Red- woodites place their choices for student office. During the past year the Finance Committee has been under the direction of Albin Dittli, Commissioner of Finance, and Mr. Cook, advisor. Duties of the Committee include selling tickets at all of the home athletic contests, including the Redwood-Tam Thanksgiving day championship foot- ball game. Members of the Finance Committee have worked behind the counter of the student store during the year, have kept the financial records up to date, have informed clubs of their financial status and have spent many hours in debate over next year's budget.
