ACTIVITIES COUNCIL INTERNATICNAL CLUB ROW l-Don Keller, Pete Holter, John Osborne, Bev Sadler, John Contos, Pete Noyes, Albin Dittli. The Activities Council has played an important part in planning and coordinating the activities at Redwood dur- which exchange students and returnees were invited to partici- ing the past year. The members included were the Student Body Vice President, the commissioners of Finance, Elections, Social Activities and Public Relations, the Vice Presidents from the four classes, and the Presidents of all the clubs and so- cieties at Redwood. The council was responsible for seeing that the proiects planned by one club or committee did not interfere with those of another organization. Members of this year's International Club continued to express their enthusiasm and interest in fostering the devel- opment of International relations. The program, planned by elected officers with assistance from their sponsor Mr. Robert Moutner, emphasized the support of the three student ex- change programs represented at Redwood. Opportunities for the expression and exchange of ideas were provided by means of picnics and other gatherings at which exchange students and returnees were invited to participate. The highlight of the year's activities was an A.F.S. Hospitality night attended by all visiting students from Marin County. REDWOODETTES. PHI LAMBDA SIGMA Debbie Hart, Louise Ross, Jo Black, Allison Lynch, Gayle Souza, Lydia Golz , Sherrill Perry, Beth Stan- ton, Jodi Covington. Phi Lambda Sigma, Redwood's honorary language society, is sponsored by Miss Wingard and Miss Baynard who initiate enthusiasm for dinners, speeches, interest in languages, fund raising, and interest in other lands and peoples, foreign or American. The students in Phi Lambda Sigma must maintain at least a B average and be recommended by their language teacher. Membership is something to be honored because of the exclusiveness of this club. This year Phi Lambda Sigma has, as honorary members, our three exchange students, Helene Uddgren, Ali Massoma- khani, and Matthias Schmidt. Redwood's drill team, the Redwoodettes, were newly formed this year under the direction of Miss Jerri Slifford. Almost every day after school one could see these energetic girls practicing their routines for the coming game. The organ- ization was small, but they have provided a strong foundation for the years to come. The Redwoodettes had originality and entertained the spectators at each football ga fe. Each girl made her own outfit, which consisted of a grey iumper, red blouse, red tights, and pom-poms. ROW 2-Nina Zunzeff, Kathy Gray, Joan Trappmann, Robin Erickson, Kathie Seigel, Poppy Eager, Jackie Mengel, Linda McClure. ROW 3-Pari Pierce, Judy Mithun, Paula Malvina, Ann Olsen, Terry Hogue, Laurel Greenfield, Gwen Par- Phi Sigma Sigma, the Frosh-Soph Girls' Service Club at Redwood, was formed two years ago. ln the past two years it has done many important services both here and abroad. It is for all Freshman and Sophomore girls who have a C'l' average or above. Under the leadership of Carolyn Cochrane, President, and their new advisor, Mrs. Koss, these girls work to support a family in Greece. This service club has certainly done a commendable iob in bringing help to needy people in America and in foreign countries and has earned the respect of all Red- wood. The officers of Phi Sigma Sigma are, Carolyn Coch- rane, president, vice president, Poppy Eager, secretary, malee, Kathy Moore, Janice Van Gutman, Ann Hughes, Alison Lynch. ROW 4--Annette Whitlow, Janie Johnson, Kerry Warnock, Chris Berbren, Carolyn Cochrane, Cathy O'Brien, Sue Maclise, Meg Gentes, Cherilyn Gilboy, Susan Christy, Helen Hart, Jackie MacDermott. Chris Bergren, and treasurer, Ann Hughes. Maintenance of lights, scenery, proiectors and broad- casting equipment were among the various activities of the stage crew this year. A new innovation this year has been the broadcasting station set up in the C.E.A. at lunch time. Noon Tune Control, as it is called, plays records brought in by stu- dents and makes dedications. This operation is carried out by three aspiring disc iockeys each lunch period. Don lrey is sound technician for all the rallies held in the gym. Seeing to it that the Little Theater is A:OK falls as the responsibility of Eric Torney and his aids. Mr. Broemmer is the guiding hand that oversees the whole operation.
