MATH CLUB 4 mfif. f I Xl A. 1 -MJ f Xi. :JV W'-i S+.. Dave Flowers, Pete Noyes, Jill Lerner, John Contes, John Osborn. Started in 1961, the Inter-School Relations Association, is made up of Redwood, Novato, Terra Linda, Drake, San Rafael, and Marin Catholic High Schools. The l.R.A.'s goal is geared toward the improvement of inter-school relations. Redwood senior John Osborn, served as Fall semester president this year and under his term of office, the first l.R.A. conference was held. The conference was held at San Rafael High School and was attended by 108 students from the various local high schools. The students met in discussion groups to exchange their ideas and discuss their problems together. The conference was said to be a great stride in the right direction toward reaching the main goal of this fine organization. During the Spring semester Chris Secor was president. Triangles, rectangles, formulas, and slide rules are among the mathematical devices familiar to members of the Redwood Math Club. Formulated three years ago, the Math Club has attracted many interested students during that time. Under the guid- ance of the club's advisors, Mr. Neylon and Mr. Glandon, the club members attempt to disprove mathematical paradoxes and to solve other problems of a more advanced nature. The president for this past year was Junior John Burke. The Math Club lends its support to students who wish to par- ticipate in the local Science Fair. The members have also been on field trips, have had guest speakers to talk on specific facets of mathematics, and have worked on projects within the club itself. In this way the club has encouraged the study of mathematics in various fields and has demonstrated to the members some of its practical uses. ROW 1-Gordon Brown, Don Bly, David Reicharcl, Nick Kerry, Rick Webb, Dawn Urbais, John Jurvig, Ed Bingham, Margaret Blackmore, Tom Bock, Penny Worth, John Burke.

The Experiment in International Living is open to all iunior and senior students who have a genuine interest in the world, both near and far from home. After this four week homestay, they travel aboard for another month with a group of other Experimenters from different places. The program is primarily aimed at college stu- dents and young people up to the age of about thirty. However, in the past few years, the program for high school students has opened up with fine results. 1 ROW 1--Toni Banducci, Maria Massagli, Toni Harris, Stacy Moore, Linda Foster. S.A.S. is de- signed to help students get acquainted with foreign students' schools and lives. Each year we not only exchange students, but also mathematics, art, and history collections. Our exchange students under the S.A.S. program, for this year were Mat Schmidt, visiting the United States from Germany, and Patty Lesko, traveling from Redwood to Preetz, One of the big highlights of this program was the S.A.S. conference, held in the Redwood library, on Saturday, February 2, 1963. Schools from all over the bay area participated in this program. Tim Minnes, Matthias Schmidt, Tim Frost.
