ROW 2-John Fraser, Craig Morgan, Dionne Kelly, Sue Hender- son, Nancy O'DeIl, Kitty Reynolds, Pat Clark, Alice Woodward. Striving toward its two primary goals of a finer appreci- ation for artistic craftsmanship and working with others for the benefit of all, the Redwood Art Club went into action soon after the beginning of the school year and selected its officers. They were Pat Clark, President, Fran Adams, Vice- President, and Anne Woodward, Secretary-Treasurer. They scheduled speakers and field trips to exhibits in this area. Discussions were held as to the possibilities of a mural for the new library wing as a future Art Club proiect. The club was advised this year by Mr. Wallace McDonald, head of Redwood's Art Department. This year's Program Committee began by sponsoring many competitive as well as united student-body activities. It was headed during the first semester by John Contos and in the Spring by Ali Massoumkhani. The committee's basic iob is to coordinate all student functions throughout the year. They started by planning Spirit Week. It included such events as Crazy hat day, successive days on which black and red were worn, the Tam funeral death march, and the elections for Spirit queen. ,During the Redwood-Tam football game on Thanksgiving Day they spon- sored a float contest with the best entry receiving ten dollars. All through the year the committee planned soc-hops during noon time in the gym with live music provided by the Casuals. ROW I-.Ian Cress, Judy Coy, Susan Gabbs, Edie Henrich ROW 2 Lynne Diamond Carol Hinkley Terry Chambers, David Bills, Bill Blackmore, Duncan Williams. Redwood's literary magazine, Orpheus, went into its fourth publication this year. Dedicated to displaying student literary and art work at Redwood, Orpheus first appeared in 1960. This year,'faculty advisor Mr. Harry Davis selected senior Terry Chambers as the magazine's editor. Another senior, Edie Henrich, was named assistant editor. Ten other Redwoodites com- prised this year's student staff. Work displayed in Orpheus includes essays, short stories, poems, sketches and prints. Members of all classes are encouraged to submit work to the magazine. Some pieces are also submitted by English teachers. Working toward a mid-April deadline, Editor Chambers and his staff selected the best of the material submitted and Orpheus IV was made available to Redwood students early in May. Orpheus is a fine group effort and gives Redwoodites a valu- able opportunity to display their literary and artistic talents. Terry Chambers, head of Orpheus Stuff 74

ROW 2--John Contos, Carol Herschleb, Bev Sadler, John Osborn, Dibbie Hall, Don Keller, Albin Dittli, ROW 3-Randy Keller, Don Rogers, Pele Noyes, Phil Weil, Tim Frost, Pete Holter. The Legislative Assembly of Redwood High School con- sists of the elected officers of Redwood, .the student body president and vice-president, the president and vice-president of each class, the head of self-government, and the head of the Student Court. The Legislative Assembly passes and puts into action laws such as: -n'o littering on campus, walking on the wrong side of the stairs, causing disturbances in the building during lunch hours or at rallies, or damaging materials on display on bulletin boards and walls. lt also defines the student privi- leges, including the senior court, canteen lines, and rally privi- leges. Serving as the advisor was Mrs. Neubauer. The self-government committee is the organization which, together with Student Court, enforces the constitution of Redwood High School. ROW 'l--J. Hurt- 1 Student Court is run like an ordinary court of misdemean- ors, headed by iudges who hand down the court's decision. Defendants may have representation during a court session by bringing in a student lawyer to present the defendant's case. Court sessions this year were held once a week during both lunch periods and were headed by Chris Secor, fall semester Student Court head. Phil Weil was the fall semester head of self-government committee and Warren Glass headed the committee during the spring semester. Clifford Terry was the spring semester head of Student Court.
