MARCHING B PEP BAND as ROW 'I-Cheryl Redding, Phyllis Danforth, Julia Shew, Shelia Malone, Pat Murray, .loan Rutherford, Dianne Smith, Vicky Ver- dellet, Barbcira Baldridge. ROW 2-Steve Finston, Tom McCarthy, Peggy Blackmore, Linda McClure, Michele lvani, Mark Larsen, The Redwood Pep Band is completely organized and directed by the students. It was the Pep Band that ap- peared at the rallies, basketball games, and this year at all football games except the Tam game. They met out- side of school time and received no credit. Each year the Redwood Pep Band appears at more functions than any other musical organization in Marin County. The student director this year was Tom Graefe during football season. Another Redwood first during basketball season was the selection of Julia Shew, the first girl to lead the band. Tom Graefe, Craig Beeson, John Pedone. ROW 3-Bill Nelson, Jeff Hesemeyer, Tom Strathairn, Dick De Beaubien, Allan Webb, Martin Beard, Steve Richtman, Richard Box, Richard Paley. The half-time buzzer sounded at the Redwood-Tam game and Senior, Bill Nelson led the Marching Band out onto the field. The Thanksgiving Day crowd that cheered them on was said to be the largest ever assembled for such an event in Marin County. Some of the highlights of the year included the Winter Concert, the All Marin County Band Festival, and the Band Tour, at which the Band played for the elementary schools in our district. Other activities in which the Band partic- ipated were the Spring Concert, the A.F.S. Tam District Band Festival, and several invitational assemblies in the Little Theater. Bill Nelson, poised, is ready to lead the marching band at Tam game.
