Members must be at least juniors, be in the upper third of their class, and have done superior work in some phase of journalistic endeavor. Redwood received its charter during the second semester but activities were postponed while LOG and BARK deadlines were met. QUILL AN CROLL The Bowling Club at Redwood was organized during the beginning of the second semester under the advisorship of Mr. Baker. Membership is open to any- one, and the main requirement is that a member must bowl two out of four times each month. The group meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school at Greenbrae Lanes. As a project the Bowling Club hopes to raise enough money to buy uni- forms for next year. The Art Club was formed to provide an oppor- tunity for students interested in art to receive fur- ther experience. The club aided the publicity committee in mak- ing posters for various school affairs. B Activities for the year included visiting a silk screen plan in Sausalito and taking a trip to the Art Museum in San Francisco. All activities and projects undertaken by the Art Club were designed to give practical experience and help the members gain a great appreciation of art. PHI LAMBDA SIG Phi Lamba Sigma, Redwoods foreign language club, was formed to reward and recognize as well as to encourage outstanding work in the foreign language field, and to promote the further study of cultures and customs of foreign lands. Members of the club are selected by the foreign language teach- ers as having outstanding interest and ability in foreign languages. At the club's Hrst meeting, Dr. Robert Spaethling, professor of German at Harvard University, addressed the members on the im- portance of foreign language in our modern times.
