Rick Marczak Jim Corrow Hal Minsass Dave Clausen Paula Hertling Lisa Wersal Mark Thrailkill Mary Boots Gary Zimmerli Tom Fox Sue Hunt Maureen Reed Lee Myers 18th century Murder, Love, Laughter, Hate — this was the effective theme of the musical production OLIVER presented in ear- ly November by the Canto and Concert Choirs of Redwood Falls High School. Based on the classical novel Oliver Twist, the striking musical recaptured the mystery and hazi- ness of the smoggy London streets. The cast, under the direction of Mr. Lewis, captivated multiple viewers as they recreated the elaborate ladies and gentlemen of 18th centu- ry England. Then hearts were torn as the helpless figures of orphans from English workhouses came alive with their pleas for pity. Such was the stage for this most recent and successful production. 12

FAR LEFT: Pat Svendsen, carrying a PRIDE sign and dressed for action, led the student snake winding through the parade. A T LEFT: Cardinals Dave Anderson (front) and Mark Anderson got in the spirit for the “Cardinal Days parade. BELOW: The Jr. High Band marched briskly to the stadium as some seventh grade girls waddled their way in boxes. The Jr. High Band also played a few rous- ing pregame selections for the football spectators. FAR LEFT: Seniors Jim Corrow, Mike Herbert, Dave Anderson, and Lee Myers livened up the powder puff game with their rousing and amusing cheers. AT LEFT: Although the struggle between the senior girls and the opposing Ju- nior-Sophomore girls was close. Senior coaches. Laughlin and Waugh knew their team would pull through.
