Anyone for elderberry wine? Everyone who saw the Senior Class’s presentation of the comedy Arsenic and Old Lace on May 5 and 6 knows the answer to that. No!! Wendy Bollum and Martha Dorns played the parts of Abby Brewster and Martha Brewster, the little old ladies whose greatest contribution to life was poisoning lonely old men by the use of ar- senic added to elderberry wine. Teddy Brewster, played by Dennis Dirlam, thought he was Teddy Roosevelt, and the audience was often startled by his unex- pected “Charge!” The person who paced the play was Brad Berberick (Mortimer Brewster) with his “My gosh, here's an- other one,” when he discovered the body of Mr. Spenalzo after finally getting rid of Mr. Hoskins, one of Abby and Martha’s gentlemen. Jonathan Brewster (Jim Lar- son) and Dr. Einstein (Steve Sinner) were partners in crime in the play and nearly killed Elaine Harper (Ann Hougham), the daughter of Rev. Harper, played by Kevin O’Leary. With the help of Mr. Schenk, our direc- tor, the play was a lot of fun and a great success. FRONT ROW: Diane Svoboda. Barb Patten. Susan Valle. Mary Ann Chal- mers. The RFHS gym was transformed into the “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” for the 1967 Junior-Senior Prom. Once again the Juniors voted to have the local Trave- lers’ Club serve as chauffeurs for the evening, providing added sophistication in ties and tails as doormen. The Grand March began promptly at 8:00 led by the Junior Class President Diane Stanton and her escort Dean Christensen. The Twilighters from New Ulm provided the music for the evening. Sophomore waiters and waitresses carried out the Roman theme dressed in togas. Marble columns, vine-covered walls and a fish pond helped to carry out the theme. As the dance drew to a close, chauffeurs awaited the elegant couples and took them hpme to change for the rest of the night. The Grand March was a big success with over 100 couples parti cipating. Sweet Dreams And Pleasant Memories Under the eye of scrutiny, Brenda Mahoney and her escort David Okins approached the entrance. 28
