THE l937 REDSTIINIAN OFFICE ASSISTANTS Row l lDdClONlCl'1 'vlasso Marucci blxxon Solomon Row 2 L1lle5 Kapel 'vfarlottl Penn Newsome Smulsky Row 3 Kelly Sarada Lukostic Orsog Row 4 lilI'llClx Howarth HFlCllx There are two groups of ofhce assistants, a group that works for Mr Wolford and a group that act as sec retaries to Vlr Call In Mr XVolford s office the girls usuallx have a set rou tine for each dax Some of the assistants help n w ritlng excuses keeping the record of absentees as signlng make up and filing excuses, while another one l eeps the detention record A group of f7lI'lS is assigned to collect class absentee records which are compiled and placed on adaily absentee sheet and distributed to each teacher at the end of period three There is an operator ln charge of the hectograph machine who tests 'Ihe girls in Mr Fall s office are also assigned certain periods a dax The girls have much work ln typing letters bulletins etc They Work with stencils and carbons take care of the office Gles fill supplies sum mon students to the office To the ax erage student it appears that nothing is ac complished in all this but to the trained one a thorou h l now ledge is being obtained in getting instruction or the dailx routine and method of conduct in ofhce This valuable routme is the foundation for the exper ience needed in a business office Although ex ery phase of office work can not be obtained the experience gained in the few duties performed in the High School office will proxe xaluable under actual working conditions -18 V x V74 M. i v A1 , 1 ' x - 4 - A ' .
