However, the elections were declared invalid when it was learned that some students were allowed to register after the deadline. A re-election was held Jan. 6 and 7 and this time Villanueva scored a decisive victory over Curwick, 253-185. Other top officers winners included Mark Phillips, vice-president, Kathy Klecka, secretary and Cory Conahan, treasurer. Highlights of the convention included Sen. Ted Stevens' keynote address, skits and demonstrations supporting various candidates and colorful displays of banners and streamers by the delegations. 1. Mark Phillips. David Cassidy eat your heart out! 2. You should be dancing. 3. Craig Versteeg presents his winning platform. 4. Nom Con committee quickly tabulates returns. 5. Art Villanueva, l'm not just another pretty face, 6. Renee Hattingh displays spirit characteristic of the Roy delegation. 7. Sen. Ted Stevens CRep-Alaskaj delivers Keynote address.

ff A WWW' Melisa Endom and Dave Ginn, Boys and Girls State reps. State Reps See Capitol Boys' and Girls' State, sponsored by the American Legion, was held at Sacramento State University, and upon arriving, all the representatives were split up into communities, cities, and counties. By the end of the week all the reps are functioning as a state complete with governor, officers, and citizens. Dave Ginn was elected district attorney of his city and Melisa Endom was elected outstanding citizen of her city. Norway to USA AFS stands for American Field Service, and Ole Jorgensen from Larvik, Norway enjoyed his AFS year in Southern California. Ole is staying with Rick La Mont and his family, and says he was very lucky to get this family that he likes a lot. He enrolled in government, history, art, video production, aeroscience, and P.E. He enjoys flying gliders, skiing, and playing volleyball. I like the weather and the beach, but it is harder to make friends here. Ole speaks fluent English along with some German, French, and of course, Norwegian. Ole Jorgensen, Norwegian foreign exchange student.
