Splish, Splash After experiencing an almost completely dry Christmas vacation, students and faculty alike were greeted with a massive downpour that lasted almost a week. The storm began on Tuesday, Jan. 6, and lasted through the week to dampen the campus for Thursday and Friday. P.E. classes usually held outside were told No dress today, and everyone either scurried or played their way to class. Walking to class in the rain can be hectic, but for freshmen it's another diversion in an otherwise dull day. taking a bath! The cloudburst brought out many feelings among the student body. While some despised it because it made walking to class so difficult, others loved it because it inevitabily meant .snow on the local mountains. The majority, however, was just glad that winter had finally decided to arrive. Monday the weather was back to normal as the ominous black clouds had moved on their way. Jim Box, sophomore, exhibits the much needed staples for any cold damp day: gloves and hot chocolate. Due to the terrible draining problems of Sea Hawk Bowl P.E classes using the field were cancelled. ,ff

Juniors Honor Graduates in Sixty-one juniors with high grades and service were selected to participate in senior commencement on June 17, 1976. David Boyd was chosen as the 1976-77 Mantle Bearer, a high honor traditionaly given to the junior with the highest scholastic achievement. On that very warm day, emotions were mixed as the seniors of '76 were bid farewell and the class V of 1977 then took the position as the Senior Class.
