ing and understanding of azz choir is a higher learn- jazz and our vocal capabi- lities. stated choir mem- ber Adam Coble. Jazz choir is a group of the most vocally talented students at Redmond High. Each member must audition for one of the sought after positions in the choir. In addition each person in Jazz choir must also belong to Concert choir. This requires great dedication and talent on the part of the musi- cians. They were required to learn the music from both choirs which takes time and effort. In the 86-87 school year Mr. Har- din fthe directorl placed a great em- phasis on learning about the jazz that they were singing. In Jazz choir the students had to learn how to sing on microphones and learn to be comfortable singing solo two challenging prospects for most. The choir traveled to many clinics during the year to learn more about jazz and partake in competitions. Erin Snodgrass choir president had this to say, I'm really pleased The people are the greatest. Grease fs fhe word hen the musical Grease was performed last No- vember at Redmond High it was a huge success. The 2M hours of rehearsal ev- ery day after school paid off the cast. The stage was set in the 1950s at Rydell High where the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies rule the school. The whole play was centered around Sandy a new girl in town and Danny the leader of the T-birds as they tried to bring back the relation- ship they had the previous summer. Before this happens though they - P Y because Sandy was not cool enough for Danny and also because Patti the cheerleader was after him too. But in the end Danny and Sandy get back toggther and Patti is left out in the co .
