his year has been one of excitement adventure in- volvement and success for DECA. With the largest marketing program in the state Redmond High s DECA strives got only to be the biggest but also the est. At competitions the hard work of the students definitely paid off. The Area 2 competitions were held at Bel- levue Square this year, with a record 180 students participating from RHS. 63 of those students received awards, giving Redmond DECA the most win- ners at Area 2. DECA participants also did a lot of traveling. Conferences were held in Salt Lake City, the Sea Tac Red Lion, and New York City. Students attend these conferences to hear speakers on various business-related topics, and for the social aspects. In RHS itself, DECA puts on many of its own activities. The Gift Wrap, Pumpkin Carving Contest, Fashion Show, and Pizza Eating Contest are just a few of these. The DECA Stu- dent Store is also open all year and gives students a chance to practice the skills they learn in a realistic situa- tion. DECA s teachers Mr. Barr M .
