efore the 1986-87 wrestling season even started, things did not look good for the Red- mond Mustangs. After a - strong season last year, graduation left the team with very few returning varsity wrestlers. This led to a team made up predominently of sophomores and juniors, which for the most part were young and inexperienced. In some matches during the season, the Mustangs had as many as ten sophomores in the thirteen member varsity line-up. They wrestled against seasoned opponents who were mostly seniors. The lack of age and experience might have daunted a less- er team, but not the Redmond Mustangs. They fought their way to a 7-11 record, better than anyone expected-everyone ex- cept the wrestlers, that is. Through hard work, determination, and courage they gave what could have been a disasterous season for Redmond Wrestling a fighting chance. Their hard work was obvious as the season progressed, as the team im- Young Fbhfs Hofcjl proved greatly with every match.
