t was the most successful season ever for Redmond High School girls basket- ball. As the season started they achieved the Lucky Seven by winning the first seven games of the year. The varsity team led by captains made Kinco and the Sea King playoffs for the second straight year. They ended the season with an outstanding record of 16-8. Varsity players included seniors Ju- lie Stephens Amy Hetzler and Melis- sa Bohm. The juniors were Erica Landvetter Stephanie Lindley De- seri Rials and Mary Ann Greene. The lone sophomore was Shawn Simpson. Junior varsity showed a strong girls basketball program for the years to come by winning the Kinco J.V. title Melissa Bohm and, Julie Stephens, with a 19-1 record. This season started out with seven straight wins and a lot of enthusiasm. It carried us through the Kinco league playoffs and into the Sea King district playoffs and into the tournaments for It was the be t season ever. I Wlll be sad to leave it. -Amy Hetzler the second straight year. The teams accomplishments demonstrates the fruits of hard work and dedication. he Mustang basketball teams deserve to be com- mended on their perfor- mances this last season. The goal of the teams is to play well Qand win of coursel and learn not only the rules of the game but also the rules of life. The varsity squad faced quite a challenge with the introduction of a new coach. Mr. Koester has made a priceless addition to our teaching and coaching staff. He watching a group of young men come together as a team and develop as players and mature as individuals. An unbelievable record of 16-4 in the regular season took a fair amount of dedication and strength on the players parts as well as the coaches. They managed a 1-1 record in the Y I claims, My greatest satisfaction was 33 7 9 KingCo and 1-2 in the SeaKing tour- naments.
