bi: Tammy Nason p otos by: Leslie Gray Boys' Swimming Team Goes To State had their best season ever this year as a result of their hard Work and tal- ent. The members were coached by Don Burton, who has coached since the team started in 1978. Practices started in November ev- ery day after school and lasted until the State Championship in the last week of February. Beginners were welcome as they had time to improve after school from 2:30 - 4:00. The team was successful with six wins and two losses. Four members Jason Blaylock a ninth grader Steve Barth Paul Van Sant and Doug Winter went to the State Championship at the University of Washington. One of the highlights of the year was beating both Lake Washington - he boy's swimming team and Juanita High Schools for the first time. A new school record was set in the Medley Relay by the four swim- mers who went to State. Coach Burton felt that the group was very talented, and that next year, We enjoyed our best season ever - Jlm Stlckels since only a few members graduated would be another great year. Because of their dedication the 1986-87 boy s swimming team was the best it has ever been.
