Talented Team Strives For Success he 1986-87 Boys Ten- nis Team had an excit- ing and challenging year. Although they had a record of three wins Cagainst Lake Washington Issaquah and showed much talent and enthu- siam. Coached by Pete Barrett and Roy Deffinbaugh the team demonstrated a great deal of spir- it. The coaches contributed a great deal in this area too. Despite the record the statistics show that many of the lost match- es were close ones. It is obvious that while the team didn t win a lot of matches they had a lot of skill and experience. The players all had fun and Juanital and 9 losses, the ,team ,A skis- fit tn, .m-rw'. learned a lot this season. It was very interesting and fun. Players Give Other Teams A Run For Their Money words yelled everyday by junior varsity coach Becky Stone as the girls volley- ball team prepared for a tough days workout. Each day they faced a tiring practice. They began with 20 minutes ofjumps sprints and rolls and ended with 30 minutes of hard conditioning. By having an em- phasis placed on physical condition- ing the girls improved a great deal. Anne Lamken and Becky Stone be- came the two new coaches who had previously played for the University of Washington. They were able to lead the varsity team to their best season in ten years. Although they only won three matches many were close ones ending with tie breakers.
