he girls' cross-country team pulled through an- other successful season. They finished off with a record of 9-3. The mus- tangs placed third in KingCo which qualified them for the district meet for the sixth year in a row. At district they placed third again and went on to run at the state meet in Port Town- send. At the top of the pack was Junior Debbie Sandgren and Sophomore Kelly Washburn. They both took turns having many victories. Close be- hind backing the up were Juniors g Y g Y ' gan Leah Preston Astrid Luebbe and Sophomore Mirium Lopez. At the KingCo meet Debbie Sand- gren finished sixth and Kelly Wash- burn Placed fifteenth. Along with their mustang pack they went on to the district and state meets to finish Julie De an, Kell nSti er, Cind Mor Girls' Cross-Country Shows Determination To Win well there. Debbie Sandgren stated, This year was made up of many tre- mendous efforts. The Winning Streak Continues nother successful year for the boys cross country team. At the completion of the duel meet season, the team stood undefeated with a 12-0 record, it was an outstand- ing accomplishment. This years team won its sixth con- secutive King-Co title. They also came in second place for the District title. Senior Stormy Shouman placed first in state for the second year in a row. Overall, the team came in third place. A group of talented runners worked together to make this years team great. Seniors Craig Hanson Dave Washburn and Stormy Shouman helped to build the experience and talent of the younger runners. Senior Craig Potter and Junior Derek Mun- son each ran well for the team. Mark Field commented on the coaches I really learned a lot from both Coach Zatloukal and Couch Villeneuve. The captains of the team were Stormy Shouman and Craig Hanson. Most valuable was named David Washburn and Stormy.
