GE FOREIG AN onjour! Buenos Dias! Have you ever wanted to speak a foreign lan- guage or maybe just un- derstand a foreign exchange stu- dent when he or she is yelling at you? If so, then foreign language is for you. Spanish, French, and German were the three languages taught at Redmond High this year. In the past some people have considered these classes to be boring because of all the memorizing that had to be done to do well. But this image has changed. Telva Richburg a spanish teacher says We are try- ing to get the students to talk more and to make what they learn more relevant. In other words the department is making it easier for the students to relate to what is learned. language is the beginning of a great adventure. he English Department at RHS is striving to be one of the best in the standing programs it has to offer and the experienced teachers, the program is already headed to- wards national recognition. Our English Department stacks up very well against the English pro- grams at other schools, boasted Elaine Hardin head of the depart- ment. Even though the classes didn t change this past year the emphasis on each class did. Some English classes were offered more times a semester because a larger number of students signed up.
