Pierce Jacob, head custodian, has been here for five years and is a friend to students and teachers alike. He is usually on duty from 7 until 11 in the morning and from 2 to 5 in the afternoon, and is on hand for night school activities. Ed Agee has been here for four years and works from noon until 8. Fayet Scoggin works during school hours and also drives a bus. This was his first year on the staff. These men are entitled to three cheers for all the broken windows they replaced, the snow they swept up, and the messes they cleaned up after careless students. Their job is tough and sometimes exasperatingg their patience and good humor have been outstanding this year. Pictured at the right with the new Locke triplex lawn mower are Fayet Scoggin, Pierce Jacob, and Ed Agee. Mrs. Virginia Vance, district clerk and office training teacher, and Miss Joan Griffith, office receptionist, head up the of- fice staff. Students who work in the office one period each day get full training in office procedure, which is part of the business education department. Office training students have regular in- struction, take tests, and get graded, in addi- tion to helping to keep the school running smoothly by serving the public at the count- er, answering the telephone, operating the inter-communication system, collecting the attendance slips each period for the deans, and duplicating material needed for class- room and extra-curricular activities. In order to enroll for office training, a student must be interested in business, be capable of doing the work, and be O. K.'d by the administration for the job.
